Muslin Media is an independent film production company based in Chattogram, Bangladesh. Founded by filmmaker Sumsuddin Ahmed Shiblu, the company is dedicated to developing auteur-driven cinema that explores the fragile intersection of human lives, landscape, and social transformation.
Working from the coastal and riverine regions of Bangladesh, Muslin Media focuses on stories emerging from communities shaped by climate change, migration, and shifting economic realities. The company’s films often blend social realism with a quiet lyrical sensibility, drawing from local dialects, regional textures, and the emotional landscapes of marginal lives.
Shiblu’s short films have been screened nationally and internationally. His short film New Address (2024) premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival. Earlier works such as Colour of Love, Beyond Equation, and Colour of God were selected for several festivals and screenings across Bangladesh.
Muslin Media is currently completing its debut feature film Flying Stair (Hawai Siri), a coming-of-age climate-fiction drama that was selected for the Open Doors Consultancy at the Locarno Film Festival in 2021. The film is currently in post-production.
Alongside this project, the company is developing its second feature film Nazora, continuing its commitment to intimate stories rooted in the socio-political realities of Bangladesh.
Through its work, Muslin Media seeks to create films that resonate beyond national borders while remaining deeply grounded in local experiences and cultural memory.
